Iso-Britannia - Queen Victoria 1876 GB lennätinpostimerkit, minttu + käytetty, (CV 930 £+ Gibbons 2018)

A set of 4 GB 1876 onwards, Queen Victoria Post Office Telegraph Stamps. The Post Office took over the Telegraphs communications system in the UK in 1870, and originally normal postage stamps were used to pay for the service. However from 1876 special Telegraph Stamps were issued by the Post Office. They are listed within the Stanley Gibbons GB Concise Catalogue 2018and are a great addition to your GB Victoria collection.

The stamps in the auction are SG T16, the 10 Shillings Grey-Green Plate 1, fine used, with good colour. (CV £450) The next is the 5 Shillings Rose, Plate 1 (SG T13, fine used, excellent colour, (CV £200).

The Unused stamps are the 1 Shilling Brown-Orange, Plate 12, (SG T9) with the watermark "Spray of Rose" (CV £250) with excellent colour, small remnant of gum and from a marginal part of the sheet, hence the straight lower margin. The 4th stamp is the 0.5d Orange (SG T1) unused again with excellent colour and remnant of original gum (CV £30). The combined Stanley Gibbons catalogue value is £930+ based on 2018 figures.
