NAD`s new A/V receiver T762

In short

The new model is capable of decoding all existing formats including 7.1 Matrix and DTS NEO:6. For use in a stereo environment, NAD uses its own Stereo Enhanced mode, which does not process the signal, but sends it directly to one of the 7.1 channels designated by the user.
The processing of surround sources is automatically detected by the digital inputs, whereby the best working technique is selected.
The T762 sends out 100 Watts per channel, whereby it is possible to increase the dynamics to 300 Watts per channel.

Connections

The NAD T762 is flexible; In addition to the internal tuner, you can choose from 6 video and 3 audio inputs. One of these video inputs is on the front panel, so that quickly connecting a camcorder is no problem. All image inputs and outputs have S-Video and regular composite (CINCH) connections.

In addition to the aforementioned "regular" connections, the receiver also has the so-called 7.1 inputs, so that the receiver can be expanded with a future external decoder. The 6 digital inputs enable lossless signal transmission from digital sources such as CD and DVD players. And of course there are 2 digital outputs, so that direct recording with a MiniDisc or DAT recorder is possible. The 7.1 preamplifier output makes it possible to expand the T762 with extra power amplifiers, if you still find the total power of the T762 too meager.

There is also an extra set of speaker outputs, with which you can play stereo music in another room. In addition, the T762 has a so-called `multi source` preamplifier output with which you can listen to another source in another room and independently control the volume. In other words: a DVD film is being watched in the living room while the radio is being listened to in the kitchen. A separate zone remote control is supplied as standard.

Technology

Quality components are used in the T762. In order to achieve the best possible playback quality, DA and AD converters from the renowned brand Crystal are used. An expensive DSP chip from Crystal is used for the Digital Signal Processing (DSP) of Dolby Digital, DTS (ES, NEO: 6), Dolby Pro Logic II and EARS. All other connections are Gold-Plated.

Surround

The T762 recognizes both "Dolby Digital" and "DTS" coded signals and automatically switches on the correct decoder for perfect spatial reproduction. Of course, the almost traditional Dolby Pro Logic and the Prologic II variant have not been forgotten in this receiver.

In order to also be able to spatially reproduce normal stereo programs, the receiver is equipped with the Enhanced Ambience Recovery System
