A beautiful entry in A & C Black's classic travel titles, this one with 75 stunning tissue guarded colour plates
This handsome copy is beautifully and colourfully illustrated with tissue-guarded coloured frontispiece, and 74 captioned tissue-guarded fine colour plates. Published by Adam and Charles Black, London, 1912. Publisher’s original decorative blue cloth board with the design of a lotus flower on the front board and on spine. Spine lettered in gilt. Top page edges gilt.

Condition
The book is beautifully designed and illustrated. Firm, and well bound. External covers in nice shape, with light wear to corners, and to head and foot of spine. Internally the book is in very good condition indeed. No names or inscriptions. Pages are clean with light foxing marks to margin edges of few pages and page edges. The attractive illustrations make this a truly beautiful title (Please see pictures).
Robert Talbot Kelly
Robert George Talbot Kelly (1861–1934) was an English orientalist landscape and genre painter, author and illustrator. Kelly was born in Birkenhead, Cheshire, the son of Irish landscape artist Robert George Kelly. He left school in 1876 to take up work in a firm of cotton traders, but was also taught art by his father, exhibiting under the name R. G. Kelly Jnr.
