This is a beautifully framed old map of the Imaidani, Roppongi, and Akasaka areas of Edo (present-day Tokyo), called “Imaidani Roppongi Akasaka Edo” (enlarged and revised Imaidani Roppongi Akasaka Map).
This map is a woodblock print by Seishichi Owariya (尾張屋清七), who is known for his highly detailed maps and visual guides of Edo.

It vividly depicts the streets of Imaidani, Roppongi, and Akasaka in the Edo period, offering a glimpse into urban planning and the origins of the region. Roads, landmarks, temples and even names of important buildings are listed.
Old map collectors, fans of Japanese history, or anyone interested in urban development will find this piece invaluable.

The map is from an Ansei 4 [1857] woodblock print.
The framing was done and donated in 1958.
