The French artist Louis Pascin gained a great notoriety with his paintings of elegant women and colourful impressions of nature, and animals, his favourites are cats and all their silliness.
He paints in a distinguished manner in post-impressionistic style.
In addition to women's figures he also paints children playing at the beach in an impressionistic way.
He still is working in Paris, where he became acquainted with the special French movements in the art of painting.
As he travelled through France, he felt that he wanted to paint in the same way as the painters who lived a century before him.
His paintings have a pastel and light use of colour and shows a mixed technique mainly influenced by the impressionism.
