The Historiae animalium ("Histories of the Animals") published at Zurich was an encyclopaedic work of "an inventory of renaissance zoology" by Conrad Gesner, a doctor and professor at the Carolinum, the precursor of the University of Zurich. It is the first modern zoological work that attempts to describe all the animals known, and the first bibliography of natural history writings.
Condition: Good condition. Some even age toning. A few minor spots. View images carefully.

Opiskellessani Oxfordin yliopistossa 1980 -luvun alussa minulla oli onni oppia harvinaisesta kirja- ja painotuotteesta kiertämällä ympäri Lontoon markkinoita ja huutokauppataloja aikana, jolloin oli vielä täysin mahdollista löytää "tuo löytö". Samoin pystyin hioa erikoistuneita kiinnostuksiani kuvitellun luonnonhistorian, mytologian ja tieteen parissa, mikä toivottavasti näkyy edelleen tarjoamistani tuotteista.
Tavoitteena on tarjota harvinaisia, mielenkiintoisia, epätavallisia, kauniita ja outoja mestarikaiverruksista hienoihin folioihin. Toivomme siis ainakin, että vierailusi sivustolla on palkitseva ja valaiseva kokemus!
