In 1904, Louis Cartier granted the wish of Brazilian aviator Alberto Santos Dumont who requested to be able to tell the time while flying. By creating one of the first wrist watches, that could be fixed to its user’s wrist Cartier sealed the bond of friendship between the two pioneers. Perhaps not the first wristwatch, it was definitely one of the first pilot’s watches ever made, its rounded corners and the square-ish case came to be a classic, and in 1911, the watches went on sale to the public for the first time. This Cartier Santos Galbee Unisex Watch ref. W20018D6 features a 29mm stainless steel case fitted with a white dial with Roman hour numerals, sapphire crystal glass, and a date complication at 6 o'clock. Powered by a quartz movement, this stunning timepiece is also fitted with a stainless steel bracelet finished with a folding clasp for added security.
