A fascinating work of Bosworth Smith's work of the Carthaginian Empire. The book includes 20 chapters, and beautifully illustrated with frontispiece ‘Remains of Ancient Harbours of Carthage’, 7 black and white sketches of Carthage, and 3 fold out colour maps, and plans. Published by Longmans, Green and Co., London (1890). Publishers’ original maroon boards with gilt lettering on upper cover and spine.
Book Dimensions: 19 x 13 cm and Number of Pages: 388 + 16 pages of publishers’ works.
Condition
Firm and well-bound copy. Light wear to boards’ corners and edges, with minor rubbing to head and foot of spine. Internally, in good condition. A label sticker on inside front cover page, and name and old date of 1894 on top first front endpaper page. Foxing marks on some pages throughout. The illustrations in nice condition (Please see pictures).
