A very RARE and interesting book and account on "The Slave in History; His Sorrows and His Emancipation, by William Stevens. with Portraits, and with Illustrations by J. Finnemore" published in 1904 by Religious Tract Society. Book in overall fair condition. Externally original cloth with shelfwear, light wear around edges and corners and light stains. Inside scattered foxing and stains especially on margins. All plates present,some misplaced,light stains on margins. A few pages repaired lightly in margins with blank tape. Ex library copy with signs: numbers on spine,sticker front pastedown, stamps especially at the beginning and one at the end,stamps on corners of plates not affecting image. Scarce. Uncommon.
