A elegantly shaped Yixing teapot called a Shuiping 水平 (meaning water level). One of the most beloved Yixing shapes.
This small teapot is finely made and stamped at the bottom with a Mengchen 孟臣 mark. A mark often used in the 19th/20th century to honor the great Yixing master. The year of birth and death of Hui Mengchen is unknown. He lived during the Tianqi period in the Ming Dynasty up to the Kangxi period in the Qing Dynasty.

H4,5 x W9,2 (handle to spout) x W6,1 cm
Condition: Two pieces of mouth-rim have been chipped, no further damage.
Checked with strong UV light for defects.
