Stained glass windows with a colourful fire painted historic scene of a Saluki; the line Dincha el Bachram that ware used als running dogs.
Hand painted by a craftsman
Salukis were used as hunting dogs by various nomadic desert peoples and were thus spread from the areas near the Caspian Sea to the Sahara. Saluki-like dogs were already depicted on pottery dating back to 4200 BC. The pharaohs hunted with falcons on their wrists and salukis on a leash and mummified salukis have been found in Egyptian tombs. Salukis are closely related to hounds and are also called gazelle dogs. The saluki is ideal as both a companion dog and a running dog.
Fire painting labor-intensive, traditional technology - originating from the early Middle Ages. It uses metal oxides, which are burned into the glass at a relatively low temperature, creating the most beautiful colours.
This high quality painted decoration with great details gives a wonderful effect when the sun shines through the glass.
