Here is a rare 360° double pseudomorph specimen from an outstanding locality: Whim Creek mine, Australia!
It displays two pseudomorphs (2.5 and 2.0 cm in size) of sugar-like crysocolla after fibrous green malachite, itself pseudomorphig two first generation azurite crystals!
We can call this a double pseudomorph, with a carbonate of copper replacing another, then being in turned replaced with a copper silicate. Such cases are actually quite scarce worldwide!
The airy assemblage of pseudomorphs emerges from an iridescent botryoidal goethite mass, decorated with white calcite clusters.
Notice also the combination with some tiny, yet noteworthy golden wulfenite crystals, that are prinkled over the top pseudomorphic crystal and near the base of the second pseudomorph.
A superb, unique combination specimen from Whim Creek showing a rare example of double mineral replacement!
