1998 Alvaro Palacios L'Ermita Velles Vinyes - Priorat - 1 McKenzie (5.0 L)

A unique bottle: only four units of this format are bottled every year in the winery, out of an aproximate yearly total production of 5,000x75 cl bottles of this wine. The 1998 vintage is a blend of Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon and Carignan. The bottle has had only one owner who acquired it in the early 2000's, and has remained in his private cellar in its original wooden box. The status of the bottle has been checked on a regular basis to ensure a perfect conservation. In this respect, at the beggining of the year 2023 after detecting a minor leak, the bottle was taken to the Alvaro Palacios winery where the cork was removed and a new original cork was placed. The bottle was refilled by the winery with the same wine (Ermita) and the same vintage (1998) from a 75 cl bottle kept by the winery at their own bottle yard. The winery issued a certificate of the re-corking operation, and this certificate is accompanying the bottle in the wooden box. This wine is at a very good moment for consumption, but can also be kept further, in good conditions.
