PILOT, Japan's highest grade of pilotage, recognized around the world.

In the mid 1897's, Mr. Ryosuke Namiki graduated from a merchant marine school and went on board as an engineer on a cargo ship that carried out overseas trade.
As he came into contact with numerous imported goods, he dreamed of creating something from Japan that he could be proud of to the world.
This desire and inquisitiveness bore fruit when Ryosuke Namiki became a professor and was granted a patent for ink storage.
In 1918, he established Namiki Seisakusho and began manufacturing and selling fountain pens. This was the beginning of the company's global expansion.
After visiting Europe, Namiki develops a fountain pen manufacturing method using lacquer that prevents ebonite from deteriorating over time.
The “Kunimitsu-kai (国光会)” is established with Gonroku Matsuda, who later becomes a living national treasure, at the helm.
The “NAMIKI” brand is quickly recognized around the world, including a distributorship agreement in Europe with the world-famous brand “Alfred Dunhill”.
It takes more than 3 months to complete a single maki-e fountain pen, and in many cases, as many as 130 processes are required to complete a gem of a fountain pen. This was one of the moments when Japanese traditional techniques and perfection were recognized around the world.

Pilot's fountain pens have been the world's first capless fountain pens, and have been the subject of many world-shocking innovations.
While more and more parts manufacturing is outsourced, Pilot Fountain Pen is one of the few manufacturers, including the three major Japanese manufacturers, that performs all the processes from alloy casting to in-house production in Japan.
Pilot also developed a rare technology to compound and weld iridosmin spheres, the metal used for pen points, on its own.
In 1914, we were the first company in Japan to achieve this, and since then, we have been developing and welding our own rare metals, which are considered to be extremely hard and hard to wear, and are rare in the world.
Iridosmin spheres are so hard that they approach diamonds and are extremely difficult to mold.
This is where Pilot's stable pen point, writing feel, and durability come from.
Pilot” means a ‘pilot’ who leads the way at the head of a large ship.
Pilot” expresses the spirit of ‘breaking through difficulties’ and ‘firm ties’ of always standing at the forefront of the times and facing up to difficulties,
The company emblem features a floating ring.

After almost 100 years, Ryosuke Namiki's “World-Class” items are now shining brightly.
Please enjoy these gems of writing instruments that accompany their owners in their daily lives.

De verkoper is OK. De pen is prima. wel verkleuringen maar dat is ok. Waar de verkoper niets aan kan doen dat de Douane onredelijk veel belasting heeft geëist waardoor de pen veel duurder is geworden.

We apologize for the inconvenience. The country name was incorrect. We are referring to shipping rates from France and other European countries to Japan. Thank you for your cooperation.

At least a seller from Japan who also delivers a cartridge with the pen, thank you it is a very good pen.

Pen well packed and ok, but the extra expenses for transport, buyer protection and high customs cost make it too expensive.

Thank you for your assistance. I am terribly sorry. I just checked and I may have sent you the wrong model sports car - 1964 Honda S600. If so, please send it back to us as a refused receipt. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you in advance for your patience.
