The illustrations were all new, though it was not the first time, as Rackham admitted in his preface, that he had illustrated several of these old favourites of the nursery in the thirty years and more that, my work has led me through enchanted lands.

Nice copy, beautifully illustrated with colour frontispiece, 7 full page colour plates, numerous black and white plates, and line drawings throughout the text. Published by George G. Harrap, London, 1942. Publishers’ original orange cloth hard boards with decoration in yellow and black of Owl, Cat and Witch on the front board and Pixie on spine; together with black lettering on front and spine. Illustrated endpapers.

Book Dimensions: 22.5 x 14.5 cm and Number of Pages: 286.

Condition:
Firm and well-bound copy. External covers are slightly discoloured, with light wear to corners and to head and foot of spine. Internally’ in very good condition. No names or inscription. Pages are clean, and bright throughout. All colour plates are present and in very nice condition (Please see pictures).
