Craftsmanship using paulownia wood is highly revered for its graceful design and lightweight feel, particularly the paulownia wood brazier, which has been cherished by nobility in Kyoto since ancient times. Around 1890, the addition of exquisite Kaga lacquerware decoration to the paulownia wood brazier enhanced its appeal, spreading its beauty throughout Japan.
