The item was very badly wrapped, it's edges have been damaged, luckily it is not torn as such, but please, be alot more prudent with wrapping future objects - perhaps use some bubble protection!

Monte Carlo 300gsm watercolour paper. This premium paper made on a traditional cylinder mould machine by St Cuthbert's Mill in Somerset where they have been making fine papers on the same site since the 1700's.
New Yorker Jean-Michel Basquiat (1960-1988) began as a graffiti artist and brought street culture into galleries, becoming a mega star of the art world. His expressive art drew on his experience as a black American artist of Haitian and Puerto-Rican descent, addressing racism and political issues.
Heads and skulls were recurring images in Jean-Michel Basquiat's work, inspired by his childhood fascination with Gray's Anatomy. Given to him at age seven by his mother, the book sparked a lifelong interest in anatomy. 'Skull', 1981 was first shown at the Whitney Biennial in 1983, where at 22 years old Basquiat was one of the youngest artists ever to show at the iconic Biennial. This painting has since become one of his most celebrated and valuable artworks.
