Brand Founder "Mitsunori, the Metalwork Artisan."
The brand "Mitsunori" was established by the metalwork artisan Takenori Ohbuchi (known by his art name Mitsunori). He founded the brand with the aim of inheriting millennia-old traditions and culture, and spreading the charm of traditional craftsmanship to promote the development of the silverware industry.
Mitsunori was born in Showa 7 (1932) in Toyama Prefecture, a region renowned for its metal craftsmanship. He apprenticed under the prestigious master Tokutaro Hayakawa in the world of silverware and later studied silverware craftsmanship in Italy. Mitsunori established his unique style by pursuing the most delicate expressions and produced works of art characterized by diverse techniques and rich artistic quality. His creations have repeatedly astonished audiences upon each presentation. In Showa 54 (1979), he was awarded the "Prime Minister's Award" and has since won numerous prestigious honors, including the "Governor of Tokyo Award" four times.
Mitsunori has mentored many disciples, ranging from seasoned veterans to young artisans, always exploring new horizons while imparting his mastery and spirit. His passion for craftsmanship, rooted in centuries-old traditions and culture, is carried on by the next generation of artisans. This legacy encompasses unique techniques, a pursuit of beauty, and a commitment to ultimate perfection.
Today, his spirit is still alive in his disciples, who have won significant accolades such as the "Newcomer Award" at the Traditional Craft Japan Metalwork Exhibition and the "Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Award," the highest honor at the All Japan Gold and Silver Creative Exhibition. The "Mitsunori spirit" continues to thrive and evolve.
