Created in 1870, this exquisite pattern was soon named after the Tupini family, a wealthy Italian merchant family who was among the first to acquire the set. Its intricate oriental motifs and elegant gilded details captivated the Shah of Persia, who ordered a complete set in the early 1900s. The Tupini design won the gold medal at the 1901 World Fair in St. Petersburg and is only painted by Master painters.
