QIANLONG YELLOW GROUND EWER
DATE: 1735-1796
Chinese Canton enamel ewer, circa 1780, with a pear-shaped body rising from a short spreading foot to a tall waisted knopped neck, with a large loop handle and gently s-shaped spout, brightly decorated overglaze enamels, the body with a central oval shaped painted panel with a stunning central painted landscape with Deer and figures all inside a blue band.
Peony heads and curling foliage, below bands of plantain leaves either side of a raised knop to the neck, the foot and rim with coloured bands of scrolling vines, the handle and spout with a cracked ice ground; the tall domed lid with gently waving leaves in blue and pink and surmounted bv a bud finial.
A Dragon band connects the spout to the main body of the ewer.
Overall in very good antique condition but expect some minor age related imperfections. Very straight.
Displays beautifully
H: 32cm
W: 18cm
Few antique Copper enamel pieces survive without some minor touch up or restorations. I have owned this one for over 12 years and am unaware of any restorative work done to it but I cannot guarantee this without reservation as the Ewer is over 200 years old.
Great opportunity to own a Premiere Chinese Antique.
Picture 13 shows an almost identical Ewer sold at auction in 2021. This with additional charges would amount to almost €4000
Will be carefully packed and sent securely with Insurance.
THANKS FOR LOOKING.
