Exceedingly difficult to find - an original Heart Shield Bible, from 1943 when these shields were sold WITH!! the original mailing box, named with name and service number, as well as the unit, see photo's. I have not done any more research on the name or unit, I only found during a quick search that he was hospitalized at least 5 times during his service. This bible is in very nice condition; the cover has a beautiful patina and much of the gold finish still. The metal plates were to prevent a bullet from reaching the soldier’s heart (which they did on several occasions. surface of the bible has a great patina and has the text: ''May God Be with you''', this text is more uncommon - A very nice 100% original item for your US WW2 collection; will for sure be a centerpiece in your collection! I havent done any research on the soldier's history, but this should be easy to do! Rare to find with the original box.
