A spectacular pair of table or floor lamps, Art-deco, Modernist, Neo-Classical, Neo-Baroque, black resin base topped with a geometric structure in gold metal decorated with a sculpture or compression of gold metal mounted on black plexiglass, the whole topped by a large original lampshade on a telescopic axis, classic model by Philippe Cheverny, France 1970.
This Philippe Cheverny “gold” table lamp exists in many versions. Different themes, same framework, metal base, different lampshade.
Philippe Cheverny, born in Rouen, France in 1936, was an artist, designer and decorator from France. He produced many lamps, furniture, paintings and objects. Many objects and lamps have this gold decoration. The company was at least active in the 60’s and 70’s. Philippe Cheverny also designed for other companies such as Charpentier and Design Kit.
A Philippe Cheverny table lamp was used as a prop in the French comedy film Bienvenue Chez Les Ch’tis from 2008.
