A-L Breguet is now regarded as the single most influential watchmaker of all time. During his lifetime, Breguet pioneered many watchmaking techniques, as well as what is considered to be the world's first wristwatch in 1810. There aren't many watchmakers who have a reputation for simultaneously producing delicate, understated dress watches and powerhouse luxury tool watches quite like Breguet. And more power to them, as this characterful Transatlantique Type XXI Flyback is in a league of its own. Somehow, this 42.5mm chronograph with its bezel and supersized personality has captured the essence of Breguet's refined dress watches with nuances throughout that connect the dots between the two. The fluted coin-edge case body and the charismatic executions of dial furniture have made this cohesion possible. This demonstrates that although this tool watch on paper is worlds away from a dress watch, they're undoubtedly singing from the same hymn sheet.
