Crowned shield featuring the arms of Rotterdam, suspended from a palm tree and supported by two opposing heraldic lions; below, a band inscribed ROTERODAMUM; in the background, a view of the city and harbor of Rotterdam. Reverse: Scene of the celebratory banquet held on April 11th to mark the coronation of William and Mary, set in a square dominated by a statue of Erasmus and a specially erected arch inscribed PRINCIPI PATRIÆ QVE S C, bearing a portrait of William III; in the exergue, 1689.
