Large still life with scattered roses was executed around 1890-1900 by good listed French flower painter François Rivoire )1842 Lyon - 1919 Villers-en-Arthies).
François Rivoire was the son of Auguste Rivoire, fabric manufacturer, and Antoinette Musy.
In 1868, he was a designer and married Marie Bertrand1 in Lyon.
Watercolorist and pastelist, he was a student of Jean-Marie Régnier and exhibited at the Salon from 1862, then became a member of the Society of French Artists.
He obtained an honorable mention in 1883, a third class medal in 1886, and a gold medal at the 1894 World's Fair and a bronze medal at the 1900 World's Fair.
He died in Villers-en-Arthies at the age of 73.
