Salvador Dalí, born in 1904 in Figueres, Spain, was a pivotal figure in Surrealism, known for his vivid, dream-like imagery. His artistic circle included André Breton, the founder of Surrealism, and fellow surrealists like René Magritte, Max Ernst, and Man Ray. Dalí was influenced by the metaphysical themes of Giorgio de Chirico and the organic forms of Joan Miró.
He also engaged with the avant-garde innovations of Marcel Duchamp, and the sculptural forms of Alberto Giacometti and Jean Arp. His peers included Yves Tanguy, Paul Delvaux, and Leonora Carrington, enriching his surreal explorations.
