This is a set of 10 very long and wide damask linen napkins and at 90cm long very generous. The initials J.J. are hand embroidered in high relief and just sitting on the background of the linen which has a geometric back ground. Because of the exceptional length of the napkin my take is that they were meant for the kitchen and for drying & polishing glass ware. But I would still prefer ot market them as napkins as the length of 90cm is so good as a napkin to cover yourself for any eventuality during lunch or dinner. PLEASE NOTE; Upon checking the napkin's fabric which I always do by holding them against the light I discovered 4 napkins which have had a minute and very old darning repair. It is hardly noticeable when in use as the repair blends in very well with the geometric design. PLEASE LOOK at the last 4 photos. Vintage linen have already known a first life and can therefore have slight traces of the past. We always select the items in the best possible way, with Love and Dedication. They do not in any way call into question the unique and rare character of these wonderful pieces. I present you our Antique linen unwashed, as taken out of the armoire, unless otherwise described .
