"Sleeping Beauty": Mercedes 600 SEL (W140) S-Class from the first series; 408 hp; in blue/black metallic (MB 199U); grey leather (MB 268A); effectively two previous owners; comes with original registration document and a verifiable mileage of 185,954 km. In addition to the lavish standard equipment of this "über-Mercedes", the following additional equipment was ordered at the time:
200A Leather
442 Airbag in steering wheel
540 Electric roller blind for rear window
551 Anti-theft alarm system (ATA)
592 Heat-insulating glass (all-round); heated rear windscreen; laminated glass; belt filter
652 8-hole alloy wheels
682 Fire extinguisher
872 Rear seat heating (left and right)
873 Driver's seat heating (left and right)
880 Locking system with infrared remote control
The last service and oil change were carried out on 26.3.2004 with 182,500 km on the clock. The car was then deregistered on 7.9.2005 with 185,954 km on the clock, and stored in a garage.
At the end of April 2023, the Mercedes, which was covered in dust, was taken out of dry storage, and the exterior was given just a gentle wash. What emerged was an almost immaculate body, with repainting work (stone chip repair) detected only on the bonnet and wings.
All rubber seals are in top condition.
No attempt to start the vehicle has been made. The engine revs freely; the brake system is free. The brake callipers look like new; no martens have got into the engine compartment; the tyres appear to have been renewed before the vehicle was put into storage.
The condition grade of 4 given for the mechanics is solely based on the fact that no reliable statement can be made in this regard, due to the engine/gearbox/drive not having been restarted. However, the owner has given his assurance, convincingly, that the car was in absolutely operational condition at the time it was decommissioned in the garage.
The underbody and the fuel and brake lines look great. For the most part, the screw connections of the axle parts and the underbody panelling still have intact yellow zinc plating.
Once cleaned, the car can, with little effort, certainly be restored to the condition of a year-old vehicle, even the fifth view (underbody).
The interior is in almost perfect condition; no cracked or scratched wood, no worn seat bolsters, no worn velour and no sagging headliner.
The vehicle document folder is complete and includes the full service booklet.
It's as if the car is from a time capsule...
The vehicle can be viewed in Kesselsdorf, Germany.
