Snowball, the quintessential 'hive' lamp of superposed screens. It was 1958 when Poul Henningsen designed the Snowball, together with the PH5, for the Danish Museum of Decorative Art. Probably eclipsed by the latter, it went largely unnoticed back then, and it was not until 1983 it was relaunched, quickly becoming the classic of Nordic lighting it is today. In the Snowball we can check PH's biggest design goal: to create direct and glare-free lighting where it was most needed. The screens turn vertical close to the bulb, encolsing and directing the light downwards, but horizontal in the upper part, allowing for an even diffusion of the light and an efect of transparency with the inner cromed casing. A refined masterpiece of aesthetics and technique. This item currently retails over 3.000€ depending on the country. The lamp is brand new, distributor's stock. The lamp is full set just as Poulsen supplies it, including the celiling piece and 4m of new cable, with all its tags, documents and protections. It has never used or hung and just unboxed for the pictures. We pack with great care, inside another box for extra protection.
