Fascinating bottle from the cellar of the famous Tour d'Argent restaurant in Paris, known for its huge cellar with astonishing collection of wine. But they also have a great selection of spirits and famous cognacs bottled under their name.

The glass bottle itself is rather old, from 1910s-20s or so. But I expect the restaurant to have re-used their bottles after emptying them. The label looks more recent than that. This is also confirmed because the label refers to the Union Cooperative des Viticulteurs Charentais (now known as Unicoop), which was only founded in 1931. The cooperative is best-known for the Polignac brand, created late 1940s.

That does make this bottle difficult to date and therefore I will leave it at a broad 1930s-50s period. - ES]
