This Adungu harp is handmade by someone from the Acholi people of Northern Uganda, it dates from somewhere between 1800 - 1875 and was obtained from Uganda and has been preserved in excellent condition by the care of the owners ever since.

The harp is made with light orange colored wood, goat skin for the sound box and leather threads to attach the skin. The strings are made of animal hair, most likely from the tail.
