Plato - Porcelana - Falling Leaf and Poem - China - Periodo transicional

A rare small Shunzhi to early Kangxi period dish decorated in blue and white. The dish depicts a falling Wutong leaf and a poem. The rim has a band of scroll work. The backside is marked with a six character apocryphal Jiajing mark. Dishes of this type with designs with leafs, rocks & poems must have appealed to the Scholar class in China during the transitional period from the Ming to the Qing dynasty. These dishes are most likely made for the domestic market, as they do not seem to appear in early European collections.
