The first edition of Shizuoka Pot Still K Imported Barley is a rare collector's item.
This limited edition was distilled in the old Karuizawa still and comes from 100% Scottish Barley malt (45% peated and 55% unpeated).
This Scottish malt, distilled in Japan, is matured in a combination of bourbon casks, bourbon quarter casks, and sherry hogsheads.
Shizuoka Pot Still K Imported Barley was bottled at a natural cask strength of 55.5% ABV, with no chill filtration and no unusual colors, with a limited release of 3,000 bottles.
Shizuoka Pot Still K Imported Barley is a fantastic new whisky that looks to follow its popular predecessor, Prologue K, in true Karuizawa style.
The distillery is one of the fastest-rising stars in Japanese whisky.
Their initial rise to fame was the purchase of the old Karuizawa stills.
Since then, they've proven it wasn't just a gimmick.
One of their latest releases is Shizuoka Pot Still K, this Japanese single malt considered among the finest single malt whiskies in the world.

The distillery is located high in the Japanese mountains in the Tamagawa district of Shizuoka, not far from Mount Fuji.

The architecture is modern, and Taiko Nakamura, founder of Shizuoka and president of Gaia Flow, has gone to great lengths to make the distillery stand out in multiple ways.

Not only in the appearance of the building, but also in terms of Shizuoka's production.

Very few bottles of this whisky, made solely from imported Scottish malt, have been released; this is a highly sought-after first edition among single malt collectors.

Tasting Notes:

Color: Golden, straw yellow.

Perfumes: The nose is predominantly floral and fruity with citrus and vanilla tones.

Taste: The palate reveals rich malts, custard, and freshly whipped cream with honey and ripe peaches.

Finish: Soft sweetness mixed with lingering oak and a wisp of smoke.
