La scène de ce bronze fait référence à un épisode célèbre du Bhagavata Purana, où le dieu Krishna, dans sa jeunesse, soumet le serpent Kaliya qui empoisonnait les eaux du fleuve Yamuna. Selon la légende, Krishna dansa sur les têtes du serpent pour le soumettre et l'obliger à quitter les eaux du fleuve, purifiant ainsi la région. Cet acte symbolise la victoire du divin sur le mal et la corruption.
Une sculpture datant du 18ème siècle du Sud de l'inde dans la région du Tamil Nadu. Les détails minutieux et d'une très belle finesse. Patine Chocolat.

A sculpture dating from the 18th century from South India in the Tamil Nadu region. The details are meticulous and of a very beautiful finesse. Chocolate patina.
