Märklin - 19440 - Raceauto Recordwagen met uurwerkmotortje - 1930-1939

Prachtige - geheel in metaal uitgevoerde - Mercedes raceauto van Marklin, artikelnummer 19440, in 1998 alleen te koop in het Marklin Museum. Schaal 1:16, lengte ca. 38 cm.

De auto bevindt zich in een optisch en techisch perfecte staat. Hij is voorzien van een uurwerkmotor, meer een gimmick dan daadwerkelijk functioneel. Het motortje werkt natuurlijk wel en kan worden gestopt met een hendel in de cockpit.

Dit collectors item is meer bedoeld als vitrinemodel ook omdat de uurwerkmotor de auto slechts een paar meter aandrijft op een vlakke ondergrond.

Compleet in zeer fraaie ovp, originele opwindsleutel zit en echtheidscertificaat

De originele auto, met coureur Rudolf Caracciola, reed het record in 1937 op de autosnelweg tussen Frankfurt am Main en Darmstadt. Hij haalde hierbij 432,7 km/uur, een record dat pas in 2017 verbeterd is. In de originele auto, type W124 zat een 12 cylinder 5,6 liter motor met 714pk.
