zinc, punched, reddish brown, patinated
Provenance: Austrian Auction House, Salzburg.
-----
The historical relief offered here delightfully depicts a moment from Greco-Roman mythology. The figures are executed in the neoclassical style in an "antique" manner, with great attention to composition and attention to detail (note, for example, the folds of the clothing and the foliage of the trees). The skilful choice of image elements and the setting of the light heights give the composition a noticeable depth and plasticity.
-----
The work offered here is an original in very good condition, with only a small, barely visible hole in the plate (see images).
-----
N.B.: The dark brown wooden frame, which is also in good condition, is not part of the offer but is included as a free addition.
-----
The shipment is made as an insured parcel in professional, transport-safe packaging.
