------------------------------------------------
The obscure French playwright Faur (1755-1815), secretary to the last Duke of Fronsac, wrote this work full of spicy details with the intention of causing a scandal, which he succeeded in doing excellently. (Hoefer 17, 179). The third volume with the adventures of the Duke of Richelieu with the beautiful Mme. Michelin is said to have sprung entirely from his imagination (cf. Barbier).
------------------------------------------------
No loose pages or tears, bindings rubbed (one joint damaged), partly slightly stained, overall good examples in age-appropriate condition.
