A big Chinese 'Fish' (carp) blue and white porcelain pear-shaped (玉壶春瓶, Yuhuchunping) vase. China, 20th century. Preserved in perfect condition! The vase is finely potted with globural body, long neck with everted rim, supported on high, expanding foot. Painted to the exterior in cobalt blue in Ming style with two fish amidst aquatic plants, over a geometrical band, Stylised lapets above the foot-rim and on the neck, platan leaves under the top-rim. Band of swirls on the top-rim (interior). Base unglazed. Daylight pictures included. Dimensions: height - 24,5 cm; diameter – c. 12 cm. Weight - 597 g.
