Dream Age / Japan's Dream Age” is a collection of photographs by Shigekazu Nagano, a leading postwar Japanese photographer. After graduation, he joined the editorial staff of “Weekly Sun News,” which was edited by Yonosuke Natori with the aim of creating “Life,” and later, at Natori's invitation, became a staff member of the “Iwanami Photo Library,” traveling around Japan and immersing himself in photography. He was a great photographer and editor who contributed to the foundation of Japanese photography from the 1960s onward. This book, “Dream Age,” is a representative work by Shigekazu Nagano, and is composed of illustrations from a personal perspective that capture various phenomena in Japan that were drastically transformed during the 1960s, a period known as the “golden 60s” in the midst of Japan's period of rapid economic growth. The book is a collection of illustrations from a personal point of view, depicting the material wealth that was won and the spiritual richness that was lost. The author's text and Tanikawa Shuntaro's contribution at the end of the book are also interesting. (Included in The Japanese Photobook 1912-1990)
