Exquisite sterling silver and cut-glass twelve-piece vanity set fashioned in Baroque Revival style. The set comprises a hand mirror, a hairbrush, a clothes brush, a comb, a perfume atomiser, two large vanity jars, two medium-sized pots, two small jars, and a round jewellery casket. Each piece is embossed with flowerheads, scrolling foliage, birds and Green Man masks – an architectural motif that originated in late Roman art from leaf masks used to represent gods and mythological figures.

The cut-glass jars and perfume dispenser display an attractive diamond-cut pattern; the atomiser is complete with its original fabric-covered bulb and the brushes have no wear to the bristles.

The interiors of the largest lids are inset with mirrors; the smaller jar lids are gilded to the interior. The jewellery box is lined with black velvet and has a leather cover to base.

There is a vacant cartouche to each piece, so this set can be engraved and personalised as a present.

An exceptional and well-preserved set, offering a generous selection of jars and pots designed to accommodate a wide range of cosmetic essentials.

Excellent vintage condition, all bristles are clean and intact and the set I ready to be used, no damage to any mirror parts. Small dings to the cartouches on the clothes and hair brushes and the jewellery casket; the large boxes have one tiny ding each to the rims of the silver lids; one of the smallest glass pots has light abrasion to base; some light fraying to the silk tassel of the atomiser; the jewellery box has two small indents near the hinge, tiny ding to the front and the lid is slightly ajar.
