Nihon University Zenkyoto Conference - Liberated Area '68 - 1968

Liberated Area '68 Nihon University Zenkyoto Conference Nihon University Zenkyoto Conference/1968/Japanese/183*128*5 This book is a collection of photographs depicting the “Nihon Daigaku Tousou” (Nihon University Struggle) that began in 1968, and was published in 1969 by the Nihon Daigaku Zenkyoto Records Bureau, which was organized by students. Among the university struggles of the 1960s, the “University of Tokyo” and “Nihon University” were the two that turned into the biggest riots. Although the illustrations were taken by amateur photographers, the high quality and excellent layout and design of this book are outstanding among the many books of photographs of struggles and resistance. The graphical and high-contrast style of expression, with its use of blurring and blurring to convey a sense of dynamism and the upheaval of the time, while leaving no “proof” and maintaining a sense of anonymity, is similar to the “provoke” style of Takuma Nakahira and Daido Moriyama, who were also photographers of that era. This is an unknown masterpiece born around 1970, which was also a turning point in Japanese photography. Most of the pages are missing, but this one is in good condition. (Published in Parr & Badger Vol. III)
