The competition was created with the aim of highlighting the craft trades. Some 200 different crafts, including the figure of the sommelier, are part of the Meilleur Ouvrier de France competition. It takes years of study and work experience to win the title. Some of France's best sommeliers had to repeat their exams up to four times before they could join the MOF club.
