Plaisant exemplaire.

ELUARD (Paul)

Can the jar be more beautiful than the water?

Paris, Gallimard, 1951.

1 volume in-8 (19 x 12 cm), paperback, 319-[1] pages (complete). Good condition.

DRAWING AND SIGNATURE by Pablo Picasso (1881-1973) on the upper guard, representing a dragonfly, and signed "À Mina".

Paul Éluard (1895-1952), pen name of Eugène Grindel, is a French poet.

Here we have the first edition of this collection of four of his texts: La Vie Immediate (1932), La Rose Publique (1934), Les Yeux Fertiles (1936), Cours Naturel (1938). This decade of writing was for the author closer to reality than to the surrealism that we know of him, with notably here the first Critique of Poetry and The Victory of Guernica and November 1936.

Pleasant example.
