Magnifique album constitué de 12 lithographies hors-texte d'Amédée Charpentier joliment rehaussées en couleurs d'après les compositions du peintre et illustrateur de mode François Compte-Calix (1813-1880) Très beau tirage des lithos sur fond jaune, illustrant des couples de jeunes femmes en habits traditionnels d'époque. Plein cartonnage romantique en percaline noire orné. Plats frappés de rinceaux aux fers dorés et d'encadrements à froid. Etat : percaline défraîchie, petites déchirures aux extrémités des mors. Volume solide. Planches en très bon état général, légères rousseurs dans les marges, une tâche jaune sur une planche en partie inf. (sans atteinte à l'illustration). Peintre, dessinateur et illustrateur, l'œuvre de François Claudius Compte-Calix est représenté dans les collections de divers musées dont le musée Magnin de Dijon, le musée Adrien-Dubouché de Limoges et le château de Compiègne. Il fournit de nombreux modèles d'illustration pour Les Modes parisiennes dans les années 1860. Magnificent album made up of 12 out-of-text lithographs by Amédée Charpentier, beautifully enhanced in color based on the compositions of the painter and fashion illustrator François Compte-Calix (1813-1880)

Very beautiful print of lithographs on a yellow background, illustrating couples of young women in traditional period clothing.

Full romantic cardboard in decorated black percaline. Covers stamped with scrolls in gilded irons and cold-stamped frames.

Condition: faded percaline, small tears at the ends of the joints. Solid volume. Boards in very good general condition, slight foxing in the margins, a yellow stain on a board in the lower part (without affecting the illustration).

Painter, designer and illustrator, the work of François Claudius Compte-Calix is represented in the collections of various museums including the Magnin Museum in Dijon, the Adrien-Dubouché Museum in Limoges and the Château de Compiègne. He provided many illustration models for Les Modes parisiennes in the 1860s.
