His uncle prepares a boat, a crew, food for him and off he goes with a strange companion, his dance teacher. But they are shipwrecked and they find themselves the two of them surviving on an island...

The Green Ray belongs to a type of novel in which the great author distances himself somewhat from science (and scientists) and gives a little more space to feelings and legends -
