Tributes to Guillaume Corneille in 2025 in his hometown of Liège
Identified as an important figure in the renewal of abstraction in Northern Europe, Corneille gradually moved from 1967 towards a rich and colorful New Figuration which coordinated with the Pop Art taste of the 1960s and 1970s, and exhibited alongside Andy Warhol, Arman, César, etc.
Superb color lithographic poster by Guillaume Corneille (1910-2010), born in Liège to Dutch parents and founding member of the COBRA group with Asger Jorn, Karel Appel, Constant, Dotremont, Hugo Claus, Alechinsky and Jacques Doucet
