Jef Diederen (1920-2009), born in Heerlen, was a Dutch painter and graphic artist, influenced by abstract expressionism. He settled in Amsterdam and was part of the Amsterdam Limburgers, where he incorporated his Limburg background into a modern, abstract style. His works are characterized by expressive colors and shapes, often inspired by nature and emotions. In addition to painting, he also made etchings and lithographs and was active in the modernist movements of his time.
