HULE Prototype Bench – A Second Chance Story
This bench is the first prototype created in 2017 as part of a furniture collection designed for a café located in the lobby of a modernist 70s cinema in Warsaw. Although the café did not survive the lockdown, the bench found a home in a private residence. Now, after careful renovation—including sanding and oiling the ash wood top—it returns to the market, ready for a new chapter.
The bench is a perfect example of HULE's Second Chance program, where furniture is restored and given a new lease on life. Through this initiative, HULE supports sustainable practices by helping products find new owners via auction platforms.
Design Highlights:
Material: Laminated ash wood top, now beautifully restored
Finish: Natural linseed oil
Features: Thick (40mm) ash tabletop and bent steel legs
Aesthetic: Modernist design inspired by Warsaw's mid-century decor
Designed by Bartosz Hulewicz, this piece combines the functionality of a table and seat with the sculptural elegance of modern furniture design. Both practical and beautiful, it is a true collector's item for those who value craftsmanship, sustainability, and timeless aesthetics.
