*Yukawa Hiromitsu 湯川広光 (active c. 1889-1895) The only information available on this Osaka-based artist appears in the Ukiyoeshi jinmei jisho 浮世繪師人名辞書 (Dictionary of Ukiyo-e Artists' Names), 1923 by Kuwahara Yōjiro which states that the artist resides (resided?) in Osaka and that at some point in his career the artist used the pseudonym 松堂 (しょうどう) Shiyōdō.1 He may have been active into the early Taishō era. In addition to the ten Sino-Japanese War (1894-1895) senso-e in this collection (which are part of a twelve print series by the artist) the Database of Japanese Art in Overseas Collections shows Moscow's Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts holding a number of undated fan prints by the artist (see sample below) in their collection.
