Here is a beautiful 'rosette' floater of bicolor azurite from the worldwide famous Chessy-les-Mines deposit, featuring unusually good lustre, remarkable crystal size and a delightful colour gradient from royal blue to intense sky blue.
The sky blue areas are naturally etched zoned due to acidic water flow withing the historical slag heap.
A nice, very representative azurite 'chessylite' from Chessy, the type-locality for the species!
